If you have never stayed in a tiny house, you may be wondering what to expect. Our well-appointed Tiny Homes have all the modern luxuries you need for an uncomplicated time away in our great Australian backyard. Think air conditioning, running hot water, gas stove, solar-powered electricity—all the things you need for a comfortable stay. Our Tiny Homes are ready for you to simply show up—pack some clothes, grab some groceries and maybe a bottle of red and some local cheese from The Robertson Cheese Factory or a bottle of gin from Joadja Distillery and make your merry way down to your home from home.
Cheese and wine are, of course, a must-have, but we thought we’d throw together a couple of top tips to prepare you for your stay with us.
Some other helpful thoughts, in no particular order:
- Remember, a tiny house is just that – tiny. Keep your packing simple.
- Be prepared to be isolated. This means no internet or phone connection. If the property has more than one site, respect the privacy of other groups.
- Be warned, the toilet will most likely be an eco-friendly one or a septic tank. This doesn’t automatically mean they will be gross.
- Check if linen and towels are provided. You may be required to take your own.
- Maximise the opportunity to be in nature. Go bird watching. Be ready to get up early one morning to watch the sunrise. Later, watch the sunset and gaze at the wonder of the night sky. No doubt you’ll get to meet grazing wildlife – think kangaroos, wombats or echidnas.
- The mosquitos and flies will want to meet you – pack insect repellent.
- Keep a torch with fresh batteries handy.
- Watch for the elusive black panther. Okay, this is probably an urban myth, but you never know.
Urban myths aside, going bush for even a short weekend can be a fun and refreshing experience. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and give it a go.
We can’t wait to welcome you!
